Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe

It is that time of year!  The air becomes chilly and mornings are frosty.  The rain has come early in California.  The weather channel is reporting that El Nino is on its way.  Lake Tahoe has already received snow and the ski resorts opened before Thanksgiving.  What a blessing it is to have snow in the mountains in our thirsty state.  Snow in the Sierras brings one of my favorite activities – skiing!!  I love to ski.  You already know this if you read my blog on a regular basis.  Tahoe, and more specifically, Northstar, is my go-to ski resort when I want to ski!

VISTA 1

Nothing compares to the beauty of Lake Tahoe.  It is truly a spectacular spot on earth that is magical and untamed.  I am grateful that Lake Tahoe is only a four hour drive from my house.

The vistas in Lake Tahoe are breath-taking! It doesn’t matter where you stand in this amazing natural wonder – it is alpine perfection!

Very soon, it will be time to visit these two guys at Tahoe Dave’s.  Tahoe Dave’s is my go-to place for extra skiing equipment for both me and my girlfriends.  Tahoe Dave’s is not only stocked with tons of great skis, snowboards, and snowshoes but is a lot of fun to visit.  The happy guys who work there make it fun and on each visit with my girlfriends.

Skiing in Lake Tahoe is a dream.  The mountains are huge, steep, and the snow is great.  Northstar creates a great environment to have a wonderful day on their slopes.  I have met people from all over the world who have come to ski at Northstar.  Northstar is Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White’s snowboarding home.  Shawn has his own area with a half-pipe where he practices snowboarding.

Shaun is Northstar’s local celebrity and hero.  Shaun has gone to two Olympics, Turin in 2006 and Vancouver in 2010, where he won Gold Medals in the half-pipe competition.

Yes, it is that time of year!  Winter break, hot chocolate, Christmas, snowmen, sledding, snowshoeing, warm comfort food, red plaid, cashmere scarves, mittens, and skiing!

See you on the slopes!
